Remembering

Pte., 44669 Ernest Smith 11th Battalion Welsh Regiment died of wounds 28th September 1918 aged 23.

Born in Scarborough in 1897 he was one of the eleven children of James Wood and Amelia Smith. James ,a fisherman moved the family to Milford Haven where they lived at 18 Trafalgar Road. Ernest enlisted in the Cardiff Pals whilst living in Cardiff. He was wounded during the second battle of Doiran and Pneumonia brought about his early death. He is buried at Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria

This must be one of his siblings Harold Frank Smith. He served as Bombardier 146718 RGA and his address is given as 18 Trafalgar Road
