Fell nr. Loos, 28 Sept. 1915. Coldwells, Francis Baker, his elder brother, fell in July 1916

Before Charles joined up he visited Francis who was at university (at Exeter I believe). Francis was carrying Charles's binoculars when killed on the 1st July 1916 when a subaltern with the Devons..
