Remembering on September 28:

Coldwells, Charles Albert, 2/Lt., 108 Bde, Royal Field Artillery

B., 15 June 1895; son of Mr and Mrs Joseph George Coldwells, Wallington, Surrey

Educated: Middle Whitgift School and Whitgift Grammar School, 1907- 1911

Enlisted in the Surrey Yeomanry;

Gazetted to Royal Field Artillery, Nov. 1914.

Fell nr. Loos, 28 Sept. 1915.

Coldwells, Francis Baker, his elder brother, fell in July 1916

If it is of any interest a third brother, Leonard, was killed serving with the London Scottish on 31 October 1914.

Before Charles joined up he visited Francis who was at university (at Exeter I believe). Francis was carrying Charles's binoculars when killed on the 1st July 1916 when a subaltern with the Devons..
