An excellent site, as others have said a lot of hard work, you are to be congratulated. However may I offer one word, of I trust, constructive criticism. I found the text somewhat hard to read on the Home page with the background of crumpled paper. Perhaps it is just my eyesight but thought I should mention it.

Paul,

On the page for Charle Ferridge, the text says he died in 1921, but the gravestone says 1928... Typo, I assume. Have you been able to establish whether his death, aged 48, was linked to injuries received ten years prior?

Anyway, nice project, Paul - will keep you busy in the years ahead!!

thanks for the feedback, I've changed what you noticed thanks,

Ive looked into trying to find what his injuries were, but as yet, no, I have his death cert,

my mum seems to think that he was gassed in the war, but again it's finding the time & know how to check all the info out there. there's so many details to add to the collection, but It's changing daily

thank you

Hi Paul,

Very impressive collection. I’m really sorry to point it out to you but the King’s cap badge on this page is from after 1922:

Nice collection Paul. I have 5 similar sized display frames for relatives, so I can appreciate how much wall space your collection takes up. Well done

Regards,

Sean.

thanks sean, the photos are a bit dated now , Iv'e added another four frames since they were taken, there all on my bedroom wall, she who speaks so wisely say's "it looks like a bloody museum" thank you, I said and I tried to take an entry fee from her, no luck!!!!

I offered to mount them all in the living room.....I don't think that was the right answer

so In the bedroom they stay

I purchased a large copy of The Attack of the Ulster Division -July 1st, at the Ulster Tower some years ago. I had it expertly framed and proudly mounted it on a wall in the lounge. Little comment was made, but I got the distinct feeling of dissaproval. In the end I asked what the problem was, "well" she said "it is bad enough having a picture of men killing each other on our lounge wall, but it is the blood on the bayonets I really object to". I agreed she had a point, it was something I never really noticed, it is now in my study!

bloody strange that, If I had pictures of winnie the pooh or some other meaning less lacy cushion display that's fine. men, guts, blood, guns ,knifes, thats a big no-no in the bedroom.

If I had my way I'd have trench reconstuctions in the front garden and a shooting range in the rear......now there's an Idea
