Anneca Posted 25 September , 2013 Posted 25 September , 2013 An amazing collection and extremely interesting. Obviously a lot of time and effort has gone into this. Congratulations and thank you for posting. Anne
Waggoner Posted 26 September , 2013 Posted 26 September , 2013 Excellent! Very well presented. A great deal of work went into this project and I am impressed! All the best, Gary
keithfazzani Posted 26 September , 2013 Posted 26 September , 2013 An excellent site, as others have said a lot of hard work, you are to be congratulated. However may I offer one word, of I trust, constructive criticism. I found the text somewhat hard to read on the Home page with the background of crumpled paper. Perhaps it is just my eyesight but thought I should mention it.
redbarchetta Posted 26 September , 2013 Posted 26 September , 2013 Paul, On the page for Charle Ferridge, the text says he died in 1921, but the gravestone says 1928... Typo, I assume. Have you been able to establish whether his death, aged 48, was linked to injuries received ten years prior? Anyway, nice project, Paul - will keep you busy in the years ahead!! James
Coldstreamer Posted 26 September , 2013 Posted 26 September , 2013 impressive - I have one to my name, being German its not an easy one to collect .....

James thanks for the feedback, I've changed what you noticed thanks, Ive looked into trying to find what his injuries were, but as yet, no, I have his death cert, my mum seems to think that he was gassed in the war, but again it's finding the time & know how to check all the info out there. there's so many details to add to the collection, but It's changing daily thank you best wishes paul

I had it expertly framed and proudly mounted it on a wall in the lounge. Little comment was made, but I got the distinct feeling of dissaproval. In the end I asked what the problem was, "well" she said "it is bad enough having a picture of men killing each other on our lounge wall, but it is the blood on the bayonets I really object to". I agreed she had a point, it was something I never really noticed, it is now in my study!

If I had my way I'd have trench reconstuctions in the front garden and a shooting range in the rear......now there's an Idea
paul leighton Posted 27 September , 2013 Author Posted 27 September , 2013 Hats off to you, well done, great display Andy thanks for taking a look cheers paul leighton
