Remembered Today:

A pure fluke turned this notice up. Like newsprint but stiff card with plain reverse.

Free to good home if anyone is interested. Strangely the CWGC seem to have him as Edwin.

Have you checked if the (Lancashire)Fusilier Museum in Bury would want it?

Hi, literally just joined this forum.

Edwin Bateman was my grandad's cousin.

I've been over to Thiepval several times to lay a poppy under his name.

Was there last year on 11 Nov for the service.

I'd love to get a copy of this card, if it's still around. I've only got a distorted version.

Whilst researching him a few years ago, I found his death plaque on Ebay. it had been sold, but I couldn't get details of the buyer from Ebay.

Any further info about him would be gratefully received. Screenshot_20200515-074855_Ancestry.jpg.f6f5e34672b0e08cca4f5b4449433bc6.jpg

Sorry. Just seen this. That was all I knew of the man. May have been related to our neighbours Harry Ogden and Annie nee Thomas.

Trenchtrotter will no doubt still have it. Jules
