I am very intrested in the 6th Dorset's as as my stepfathers father served with them, his details appear on the Long Long Trail Ordinary Heroes section.

Out of curiosity who did the medals belong to, and what was the postcard of ?

If you could let me know it would be most appericated.

Thanks Peter

Sadly he is not on this Platoon Roll, strangely there are no "D"s @ all!;the Postcard is posted below.Jim Jeacock is the Corporal in the centre,Back row, sadly it is a very poor quality Photo having been badly scratched in storage {before I got it I hasten to add!}.

I don't suppose for a moment that you would be interested in selling your little collection to Sgt Jeacock??

If yes, then name your price.

If no, then I guess you will probably be interested in the attached. Picked it up a while ago and only made the connection when reviewing "Dorset Regt" related links.

Hello Steve,

Sorry to dissapoint you,but I am not considering letting go of the Jeacock Trio/SWB,Etc.as you will no doubt appreciate,Groups with War Badges Confirmed are a bit thin on the ground. Is the Discharge Certificate His?I can only make out "Jeacock" in the JPG?& obviously if his I would be interested,or if you wish to keep it a Colour Photocopy/Scan would be appreciated?PM me if you wish to consider this Thanks Regards Roger.

Roger,

As you will see from my postscript I have an interest in Romsey. Any chance of posting the other side of the postcard as I'd be interested to see if it includes any useful info?

Thanks

Marc

Thank you for looking. John Willis died of schrapnel wounds just 12 hours after first arriving at the trenches, on 05/08/1915. He was age 45.

Just checked SDGW, there is a Pte. George Waldron 12154 6th Dorsets. Do you have a few two many Walkers?

looks like the Dorsets recruited quite a few in Birmingham.
