Gunner R.A. Posted 6 September , 2013 Share Posted 6 September , 2013 Just looking at the war diary extract for October 1915 for the 6th Bn and I am trying to establish exactly which part of the line they are manning. The diary states that the HQ is Elveringhe Chateau and the trenches are in an area on the Yser Canal around Ypres. Locations mentioned are Malakoff Farm, Pioneer Farm, Sarragossa and Modder Farms and Hulls Farm. I cant see a sheet reference but there are plenty of map references. If anyone could give me a better understanding of exactly where the battalion is at this time, better still a copy of a trench map I would greatly appreciate it. I could always forward an extract of the war diary if it would help, Kind regards, Pete.
