sneakyimp Posted 28 August , 2013 Posted 28 August , 2013 I am having a devil of a time deciphering the hand-written war diary of the 7th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. I believe these were written by second-in-command Major Victor W. Odlum. There are only two pages in particular and you can find them here: April 1-19, 1915 April 20-30, 1915 Any help would be much appreciated. It's worth noting that the 7th Battalion took part in this period in the fighting to hold the line against the first gas attack on the Western Front. There Machine Gun Officer, Lt. E.D. Bellew, recieved the Victoria Cross for his part in the action. So far, I've got something like the attached image. I've highlighted in red the parts I'm not sure about.
