Can anyone find anything on this man. a friend has a cigarette case with this name inscribed upon it. Also dated 1917. I can't find an obvious mic, can anyone find anything on this man? A link to any Ancestry page would be great.

Only just seen this. A C Tibbits was my grandfather. All the details are correct. You can see my tree on Ancestry with further connections. Would at the least be interested in a picture of said cigarette case...

Thanks for posting this

He was a residential student at the University of Birmingham from 1904 - 1911.  He took his qualifying exams elsewhere.

He had a sister, Agatha (1886 - 1968).

His wife was also a residential student from 1906 and took a Birmingham Honours B.Sc. in Botany in 1909 and her M.Sc. in 1910.

The Forces War Records list him as a Captain R.A.M.C. in 1918 and as a Civilian Doctor in 1937 - 46.
