Edward Waller frame

So, some time ago I decided that I wanted a framed record of my 4 great granddads first world war service. It's taken some time but I've got the first one done.

I court mounted the medals myself and am quite pleased with the result.

Each of the 4 frames will follow the same pattern so should look good when done.

Sadly, out of the 10 medals required, I only have 1 named original. The rest have been purchased via a popular auction website and I have made sure that they are from men of the same regiment. I have also printed off the MIC for the original owner and put them into the back of the frame.

Took 2 days to do and has quite worn me out. 3 more left to do!!!

Chris,

Thanks but I'm not sure my dining room table or my wife could stand the scene of devastation that has been left behind in creating this one alone!!

Get a new dining room table or a new .......! Sorry, our better halves are so patient and understanding. How about the garage?

Well, my garage has just undergone a significant tidy up so I could move operations in there......

Nice Job Chester. I do like to see other pals work, well done. Here is one of mine (I have five of each, although the medal displays are various).

Regards,

Sean.

Yes, they are all displayed around the wall's at the top of our staircase. The wife's not quite so enthusiastic though

Ha, sounds familiar. When my wife got home yesterday I showed her my finished work & her first response was "I don't know where you going to put it".

Oh well......

"I don't know where you going to put it".

I got a similar response on completing my first one, you get used to it after a while :w00t:

You will find however, that once the comments from your visitors take effect, she will warm to it (I hope, for your sake!).

Keep us posted as you finish the others
