Dragon Posted 20 August , 2013 Posted 20 August , 2013 I thought some people might be interested in this little blog by a travel writer who has attempted to cycle parts of the Western Front on his Brompton (folding bike). France on a Folder As a Brompton cyclist myself I have to respect the effort involved! Bromptons have limited gears and can get uncomfortable after a few miles. He's even managed to cycle up to the Hautes Vosges battlefields. Our Brommies go with us to the Vosges but usually for the flat bits or the vineyards. Gwyn
Admin Michelle Young Posted 20 August , 2013 Admin Posted 20 August , 2013 Thanks for the link Gwyn, very interesting Michelle
Roger H Posted 20 August , 2013 Posted 20 August , 2013 Never mind the Vosges, I cannot believe he actually managed Mont Ventoux on a Brompton. Chapeau! Roger
Dragon Posted 20 August , 2013 Author Posted 20 August , 2013 Yes! I didn't mention anywhere else because I was dutifully keeping to Great War sites. I would get cardiac arrest trying some of those climbs on foot, let alone a Brommy laden with bags, and I'm fairly fit. Gwyn
