The MIC has only one service number, the series is a Territorial Force one from the 1917 re- numbering for the OBLI Buckinghamshire Battalions 1/1:2/1:3/1 and 3/4. The MIC has no entitlement to the 1914-15 Star so he didn't go to France until 1916 or later. 2/1 went to France in May 1916 with 184 Brigade of 61 Division. It is possible that this is the unit he served, though there is a possibility that he was drafted to 1/1 or later in 1916,or early 1917,as a replacement for losses. His MIC reference for the BW and V Medals will relate to the original medal roll which will have the battalion shown. L106B3 page 473 relates to ledger WO329/1361 page 473 at the National Archives where the info will be found.

Just to clarify,I missed a bit out (!),3/1 and 3/4 Battalions remained in the UK so won't feature as a whole in war zone postings, though individuals from those units at have been drafted to the foreign- serving units 1/1 and 2/1.
