dutch701 Posted 12 August , 2013 Posted 12 August , 2013 Hi forum , As I am a little bit of a Techno-phope please could any body help me , i want to upload some photos of some Irish Guards Shoulder titles and numerous buttons I want some information on, but when i try to upload the photos it tellsme my files are to big. How can i make these smaller to progress. I am all ears , best regards Shane.
River97 Posted 12 August , 2013 Posted 12 August , 2013 Shane, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed either, but I find it quite easy to e-mail them to myself. I have a Mac and when doing this there is an option to choose the size of the photo (small, medium, large). I choose medium and go from there. Depends what type of computer you have I guess. May be worth a crack. Cheers Andy.
jay dubaya Posted 12 August , 2013 Posted 12 August , 2013 IIRR photos uploaded in to forum posts need to be 100kb or less. Photoshop or the likes will do this with ease for you or you could use in image hosting site such as photobucket (free) in which case you wouldn't need to resize the photos, then just add a link in your post. I'm happy to help if you want to email the photos to me, you will find my email address in my profile, cheers, Jonny
dutch701 Posted 12 August , 2013 Author Posted 12 August , 2013 Ok cheers guys i wil give it a go, if not i might take you up on your offer Jonny, thanks again Shane
Admin spof Posted 12 August , 2013 Admin Posted 12 August , 2013 Jonny, the size limit has been increased to 250kb. There's a link to a resizing website in this post
asanewt Posted 12 August , 2013 Posted 12 August , 2013 If you have Microsoft Picture Manager it's quite simple and effective. Right click the image, select "open with" Microsoft Pic. Mngr. Now select "edit pictures" From the menu that appears on the left under "change picture size" select "compress pictures" The next menu gives four options including "don't" , select the option which gives the largest size consistent with the limit, in this case, of 250kb The original and compressed size are displayed bottom right of the menu so can be checked before applying compression Once compressed, "file" and "save as" to your choice, say original name with, comp, or small on the end to identify it for uploading to forum Sorry if it's talking down to you. Good luck, Jules
dutch701 Posted 13 August , 2013 Author Posted 13 August , 2013 OK thanks for all the info I think I have cracked it using the microsoft office picture program so I will try another post. Thanks again Shane
