Guest zetec51 Posted 11 August , 2013 Posted 11 August , 2013 I cann't find the service record for Richard Joseph Sinclair, who was an ambulance driver in Amiens . He bought a silk Hanky from Amiens and a silk tea cosy from Dunkirk. Thats all I know. He doesn't come up in any Army records ? Can anyone help, please ?
Ron Clifton Posted 11 August , 2013 Posted 11 August , 2013 Hello zetec51 Are you sure that he was in the RAMC? Most ambulance drivers were Army Service Corps. Alternatively, he may have been with one of the voluntary hospitals run by the British Red Cross or St John Ambulance. Ron
Laird of Camster Posted 11 August , 2013 Posted 11 August , 2013 Was he perhaps in the Navy? As Ron states he might have been in the Red Cross. Have you tried his medal index card, that`ll tell you what medals he was entitled to (who he served with), might tell you when he went to France, but will tell you his military number which will assist in your research.
