BroadwayWarMemorial Posted 10 August , 2013 Posted 10 August , 2013 I am researching Lance Corporal 29004, Jack Tustin 14th Battalion Royal Warwickshire (1899-1918). It was reported in the local newspapers that he was wounded in action (in the thigh and stomach) and died at a clearing station on 13th September 1918. I am uncertain as to where he was when he was injured. The Battle of Epehy had not started and the assault on the Drocourt-Quwant Line had taken place on 2 September 1918. Can anyone shed more light on where he perhaps was injured? Sadly given his injuries I don’t think he would have survived very long. Am I right in assuming that he was at one of the clearing stations at Greyvillers (34th, 49th or 56th) when he died as he is buried in the cemetery there? Any advice/help gratefully received. Many thanks.
BroadwayWarMemorial Posted 10 August , 2013 Author Posted 10 August , 2013 Oops - just realised a couple of errors in the above having checked my research!! Jack Tustin's regimental number was 36116 and he died on 30th September so presumably died during the Battle of the Canal du Nord.Think I have therefore answered my own question. Thanks for looking.
