little bob Posted 10 August , 2013 Posted 10 August , 2013 Remembering 2nd Lieutenant Hubert Francis Day 11th Battalion Royal Fusiliers killed in action 10th August 1917 aged 22. Hubert was the youngest son of John Henry and Margaret Day of 128 Robert Street Milford Haven. He was killed two years and one day after his brother John. At 4.30 am the 11th Royal Fusiliers attacked Westhouk Ridge going into action with 37 Officers and 891 Other Ranks. Strength on coming out of action 20 Officers and 563 Other Ranks. Hubert's body was never recovered and he is remembered on the Menin Gate, Ypres. Bob
