Wollyback Posted 7 August , 2013 Posted 7 August , 2013 Whilst I'm sure it's just my inexperience, but of all the cap badges that I stumble across in postcards and photos the one that causes me the greatest amount of agonies is that belonging to the RASC and I've probably misplaced many a pour soul because of it. So if anyone's got the time to glance at these, I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks in advance - Tony.
Tyneside Chinaman Posted 7 August , 2013 Posted 7 August , 2013 Hi, The one in the middle is East Surrey or more likely Devons he's wearing a curved infantry shoulder title. regards John
Jerry B Posted 7 August , 2013 Posted 7 August , 2013 I hate to be picky, but they were the ASC until after the wars end I think.
Jerry B Posted 7 August , 2013 Posted 7 August , 2013 Here is the details on when the change took place. On 25th November 1918 the Army Service Corps became the Royal Army Service Corps, the prefix Royal granted by Army Order 362 for services during the Great War.
Staffsyeoman Posted 7 August , 2013 Posted 7 August , 2013 I'd agree that the chap in the middle is Devons - the curved shoulder title also distances it from the ASC.
