Uniform query - Canadian Expeditionary Force?

Yesterday I posted this photo to ascertain which British regiment uniform it belonged to. (Uniform query - MGC or 19th Hussars or ?)

Consensus of opinion is that it is more than likely Canadian so I am re-posting in the hope of finding an answer. The photo was taken in County Durham, NE England.
