Hi All,

I'm after some help with a possibal non-commemoration, however at the moment I've not ruled out that it is a trascription error, I'm waiting for a photo to be sent through so I can see the local memorial, but here's what I've found so far:

While doing reaserch into my family tree I was pointed in the direction of the www.gravestonephotos.com and was looking at burrials and memorials at the Curch of St Mary the Vrigin, Haugley, Suffolk. [HERE] is the link to the page in question, enteries No. 238 and No. 242 have similar names (Honeyball and Honeybell). I initialy at a glance miss read the enteries and suspecting they were brother had a look on CWGC.

I found C Honeyball on CWGC and the additional information confirms he was from Haughley so is the one named on the church's memoral but no referance to a brother having also served. However from the both World Wars the CWGC only has two entries with the spelling HONEYBELL but does have a J Honeyball with no additonal information.

I'm going to post a request on here next to see if anyone already has a picture of the memorial to see if it is just a typo but I know the people here have a lot of experiance with this and have done some great research in the past and I'd like your imput on this please.

Sandie,

Frank Honeybell of the KOYLI is the only Honybell listed with CWGC from WW1 and the John Honeyball is from the wrong area. When I get the photo through I'll have a look.

Do you think he could be a non-commemorated?

Good find I've got the picture through this morning and HERE is the link to it.

There are too many examples of pals battalions where they all joined up together and died together.

This now raises the questions of since it's been there a while do I just leave it or point it out to the local branch of the RBL?

If you have enough evidence [certificates etc] you should send them to CWGC

Bardess,

CGM found him with CWGC. It seems the spelling error is on the local memorial so he is commemorated

I thought you were meaning that his surname was incorrectly spelt on CWGC
