McCudden Posted 21 July , 2013 Posted 21 July , 2013 I found this aluminium flask in a charity shop in the 1970's. Attached to the neck was the note which indicated that it was taken from a captured dead German and sent home as a souvenir. Can anyone please tell me if this was standard issue to German troops and if so, what drink was it intended to contain? Thanks
Khaki Posted 21 July , 2013 Posted 21 July , 2013 Hello McCudden, I think it is regulation German flask of WW2, minus its cover and cup etc, you might want to show it on a ww2 forum for a definite opinion, I certainly don't think it is Great War vintage. khaki
McCudden Posted 24 July , 2013 Author Posted 24 July , 2013 Thanks Khaki. It never occurred to that it might be second world war! Now I've googled it, it looks like it's either German or Polish. Alec
