I found this aluminium flask in a charity shop in the 1970's. Attached to the neck was the note which indicated that it was taken from a captured dead German and sent home as a souvenir.

Can anyone please tell me if this was standard issue to German troops and if so, what drink was it intended to contain?

Thanks

Hello McCudden,

I think it is regulation German flask of WW2, minus its cover and cup etc, you might want to show it on a ww2 forum for a definite opinion, I certainly don't think it is Great War vintage.

Thanks Khaki. It never occurred to that it might be second world war! Now I've googled it, it looks like it's either German or Polish.
