The diary of the 9th Battn., Rifle Brigade is not yet available online from the N.A. Pte. John Eastment was killed in action on 24th June 1915 and I am trying to find the location of the 9th on that day. In Nigel Cave's book, Sanctuary Wood & Hooge, there is a sketch map on page 50 showing the 9th attacking Marsh Farm Houses and G8 trench opposite Hooge on 30th July, but I cannot find reference anywhere as to where they were on 24th June although I am assuming it was somewhere near Hooge. I noticed from searching some old threads that there are some members who might have the diary for this date, or that of the 42nd Infantry Brigade to which the 9th was attached.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Bob,

Away from my secondary hard drive presently, have all the 14th Div diaries as well as all RB's. If you can hang on until tomorrow I will get it all sent to you.

Bob,

If you can drop me a pm with your e-mail address on I will get the Brigade and Battalion diaries sent to you. The maps are somewhat large and do not resize well to fit on the forum limitations regarding size.

Hi Andy - I have received all your e-mails and am wading through the pages to download them. I was going to let you know when I had finished the downloads. So thank you very much for your help and I will let you know the outcome.
