RobL Posted 25 June , 2013 Share Posted 25 June , 2013 Very nice card badge, which I am told dates from WW1 and is a 'flag day' badge, which were held in large towns, cities etc by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and usually involving a Lifeboat similar to that on the image (a standard pulling/sailing Self Righter) on horse-drawn carriage. Does anyone have any similar badges, or photos of WW1 flag days?
ARABIS Posted 26 June , 2013 Share Posted 26 June , 2013 The only photo I have is this one. It's hard to make out but the naval rating has a paper flag stuck into his cap ribbon between his right eye & ear.
