TARA Posted 27 July , 2013 Share Posted 27 July , 2013 Graeme, I don't have access to the war diaries but I do have The History of the Norfolk Regiment by F. Loraine Petre. It gives an account of the 1st Bn moving through terrible weather conditions (snow) in February and March 1916 up to the front, north east of Arras. "The weather continued horrible till March 12th when it cleared up. The remainder of March was spent in the usual trench routine, Arras being the reserve position. On March 29th Captain H S Cameron was wounded in the trenches, and Lieutenant A W Bates died of wounds. On the previous day Major Stone had again been wounded. Thanks to the severe training they had undergone, the men were at the time in the height of condition. The early days of April were on the whole quiet, though a few casualties were caused on two occasions by the explosion of German mines." If you would like more information let me know. TARA.
