melliget Posted 28 May , 2013 Share Posted 28 May , 2013 I came across this chap in the NAA. Could not locate him on CWGC. Sgt John Eckford LEE, Australian Army Medical Corps (Home Service), No 4 A.G.H (he was not a member of the A.I.F.). Died from some sort of medical condition (kidney infection and a form of pneumonia) on 6 Dec 1919 in the Garrison Hospital, Victoria Barracks, Paddington, NSW. http://recordsearch....e.asp?B=6031824 Fortunately there is a copy of his NSW death certificate on page 12. He was buried two days after his death in Waverley Cemetery, Bronte, NSW. Is he eligible for CWGC commemoration? regards, Martin
chrisharley9 Posted 28 May , 2013 Share Posted 28 May , 2013 Hi Martin Will ask the usual questions but I see no problems as he was a member of the Australian Armed Forces Chris

melliget Posted 28 May , 2013 Author Share Posted 28 May , 2013 Thanks Chris. That's good news. It may not be needed but attached are his death and funeral notices from the Sydney Morning Herald 8 Dec 1919 (his death cert gives his parents' names and his wife's name). cheers, Martin
chrisharley9 Posted 29 May , 2013 Share Posted 29 May , 2013 Thanks for those Martin but we shall not need them due to the quality of the paperwork on his file Chris
