What are the letters at the end of the "3 Days", please, and what do they mean?

I've tried everything I can think of, and searched the Internet, but I'm none the wiser!

It could be - though it looked like a small "L" and a small "c" to me - but it could be.

Thanks

Hello Jayenn

I agree with daggers. The first letter is typical of a script C of the period, and the second one is smaller because the clerk ran out of space!

Thanks both, unless someone comes up with a better suggestion, that's it then, "Confined to camp" - I'm happy with that!
