stuartd Posted 21 May , 2013 Share Posted 21 May , 2013 I wasn't quite sure where best to post this, but I came across these interviews (luckily dubbed!) with German WW1 veterans which appear to have been filmed in 1980. Most of them seem to be about Verdun but I haven't had time to listen to all of them yet. Enjoy! http://gottmituns.net/2013/03/18/german-veterans-of-verdun-world-war-1-video-interviews/
CarylW Posted 26 August , 2013 Share Posted 26 August , 2013 Thank you Stuart. I found these very interesting and I was grateful for the subtitles! Can't understand why you haven't had more replies, but possibly quietly appreciated by those who did click through (54 views at the moment) or may have been missed

egbert Posted 27 August , 2013 Share Posted 27 August , 2013 These interviews were compiled by a certain buy "1infanteriedivision" on youtube. I attempted to find more such interviews from WW1 with no success. Maybe somebody else here is more succesful. But I found a very remarkable large aural interview in 50 !!!! parts from the mentioned source. It is all about what a Stuka pilot has to say about his WW2 flying against Belgium, Britain, Greece et cetera:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1X21-pUQsw&list=PLB2358FC66FF41BA7Sadly he is speaking in English language

egbert Posted 29 August , 2013 Share Posted 29 August , 2013 Ant, in the link several parts out of 50 are missing. I found a couple more today, starting with part 29. From there it is possible to find more parts of the interview by following the youtube spur: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9k5Dr7T2GM OMG, it goes on and on , just found until part 64!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely fascinating this guy.
