Lone Pine2 Posted 19 May , 2013 Share Posted 19 May , 2013 I wonder if someone would be kind enough to give me, if possible, a brief history of the Salonkia campagnie, the reason I am asking is that my Great Uncle Joseph Pritchard was there in WW1. I don't think he fought as was not "A1" but think he may have been involved in loading and unloading the ships. His brother my Grandfather was KIA at Gallipoli, and that I know a bit about, but Salonika is a mystry. Thanks
keithmroberts Posted 19 May , 2013 Share Posted 19 May , 2013 Your best bet is to buy this book, or to order it from the library. Gully Ravine Posted 19 May , 2013 Share Posted 19 May , 2013 You could always join the Salonika Campaign Society and receive copies of their New Mosquito journal (back copies available) and regular e-newsletters. See http://www.salonikac...ption-enquiries or PM me. Keith (the other one, with slightly better knees).
Gardenerbill Posted 20 May , 2013 Share Posted 20 May , 2013 Another book you could try is 'The Gardeners of Salonika' by Alan Palmer.
Warwick Posted 20 May , 2013 Share Posted 20 May , 2013 But a brief starting point might be the Long Long Trail website - http://www.1914-1918.net/salonika.htm
