Hello i wonder if anyone can help me. i have been looking for my great grandads medal card on the national archive, Wlliam heath 13125 of the cheshire regiment. i cant find them on the archive. if anyone finds it could they read it for me as i find them hard to understand. i know a card exist as i have his three medals. many thanks to anyone who can help.

It is on Ancestry & TNA recorded as 13725

oops - entitled to the 1915 star, VM & BWM. Entered France 4/5/1915.

hi is 13725 a mistake as it says number 13125 on his medal

I read the card as 13125 but because there is a little thickening of the pen stroke on the top of the "1" it is perhaps possible to mis-read it as a "7".

Looks like a transcription/clerical error as his Service papers confirm the 13125 that is on the medal.

thanks thats him. his photo is my profile picture. thanks to all for your help. would he have been awarded he silver badge as he was wounded by GSW to right cheek and gas ?

No. He returned to duty and was posted to the 1st Garrison Bn in Gibraltar. He was eventually discharged to Army Reserve Class Z in 1919.
