Does anyone know the wherabouts of 5th Seige Battery in October 1916 please? I'm looking at a chap who died of wounds 20th October and is buried at Forceville.

Thanks, Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Which chap are you after - Albert Jackman or Andrew Wright? Albert was killed in action when the battery position was being hit by 5.9" shell fire during the evening of the 20th; Andrew was mortally wounded at the same time and died of his wounds that night. The battery was then just outside Colincamps.

Feel free to send me a PM.

Cheers

Steve
