Hi

I am researching the Newbridge memorial and just found your wonderful resource.

Would it be possible to have the image for the following:

CLEAVER, Sidney, Private, Date 1915

Cheltenham Chronicle & Gloucestershire Graphic, 02 October

1st Gloucesters, KIA at Aisne 26 Sept 1915
Lived in Gloucester,

Interestingly all the official records have Sidney Cleaver as died on 26 Sept 1914

Thanks again

Hello,

The year should be 1914, so it looks like one of my typo errors, there were going to be a few with over 7500 entries. This one I think occurred because I was working on the 1915 year book and Private S Cleaver's picture appears for the anniversary of his death.

I wonder if its possible to help me.

I'm currently researching my family that served in the Great war, I notice that searching the archives there is a group photo available of my great grandfather and his serving brothers and parents(I think 6 served in total).

I've contacted the archive in Gloucester and will be visiting very soon as I notice you have 7 files on record relating to my family , also hopefully taking in the museum as well.

The record i'm very interested in is.

Hello - I am looking for the photograph of my Mothers Uncle Francis Herbert Webb. Looking at the index of photos you have provided a link to his photo is number 7460.

I know from other information that he died on May 24th 1918 (as per CWGC) although this record says 23rd May. He lived at Bishops Cleeve and joined the 14th regiment of Gloucester's. He is buried at ST Sever cemetery extension in Rouen.

Is there a possibility you could send a copy of the photo.

The record shows he died of wounds received on 29th April 1918 and at the time he was attached to the Royal West Kent regiment. I have not been able to find out which battle this relates to, any ideas on a way of finding this out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Paul
