Remembering today Second Lieutenant Daniel Morton, 4th Bn King's Royal Rifle Corps. Killed in Action 10th May,1915, and posthumously Mentioned in Despatches, L.G. 1/1/16.

He served in South Africa during the Boer War(QSA with 2 clasps) and was present at the Delhi Durbar in 1911(Medal). He was a son of the late Daniel Morton, and of Eleanor Harris Morton of Sandal Magna, Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

He is commemorated by name on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres. Age 35.
