Revan Posted 11 April , 2013 Share Posted 11 April , 2013 Hello, Do you know some information on the trenches at North of KRKLINA (KRKLINO), still here on 2013? You can see them on Google maps. I opened a topic on this forum (with old photograph on 1918), but not an answer (It would be interesting to have more informations): http://www.theaerodr...a-trenches.html (If not a problem, I asking you about these trenches, if you want). I add the photographs: (Source: Google maps). From my collection on 9 June, 1918: KRKLINO (KRKLINA) was at North of MONASTIR town (Bitola, now). Are they open at public? Or are they only an old tracks and only visible by the sky? On my photograph, we only can see a part (top) of the trenches, North is indicated at Right. These trenches at North, they were normally enemies. Thank you. Regards. (I'm sorry for my poor English).
apwright Posted 11 April , 2013 Share Posted 11 April , 2013 Hello Revan, You may know this already, but there are some detailed maps of the area around Krklino in the JMO of the Artillerie of 16e DIC (26_N_477_001, pp. 96 & 97, and maybe more - I haven't read the whole diary!) Unfortunately, they are from early 1917 and do not show your trenches north of Krklino. But they do show a line of trenches all along the ridge south of the village, all the way to Snegov. Trenches with names such as Bismarck, Hohenzollern, Schiller... Adrian

Often, I read KRKLINA in several JMO on 1918, and the shots by artillery. Regards.
