susanhemmings Posted 4 April , 2013 Share Posted 4 April , 2013 Good Evening all, In response to original query by Jayenn: I have gone through the service records, medal rolls and pension records putting NCC in the regiment search option as suggested . (putting n c c brings up a lot of other regiments so I just stuck with NCC) I am very wary of the results but can say that the few names I have checked out are Non Combatant Corps The total count I found is: Medal Rolls 21 names Pension Records 2 names Service Records 1347 names Following this I have copied and pasted these names and available details (which includes the address of the service records) on all of them into a word document which is some 84 pages long. I have tried to tidy it as best as I can (I probably should have used Excel come to think of it). If anyone is interested I will email this to you. Please send me an email and I will be glad to send this to you. The word document is 2.73 MB so too large for a PM. Kind regards Susan

Magnumbellum Posted 4 April , 2013 Share Posted 4 April , 2013 A few of the 34 CWGC NCC men have been the subject of various discussions on other GWF threads; searches for the individual names will bring them up. No doubt the two pensions records men are cases of men who, although necessarily not serving in the front line, became casualties, just as the CWGC men became fatal casualties. susanhemmings Posted 4 April , 2013 Author Share Posted 4 April , 2013 I think some (if not quite a few) were sent to become stretcher bearers and general service men. Poor devils. Whatever their convictions may they all RIP Susan
