FredJCarss Posted 7 September , 2004 Share Posted 7 September , 2004 In researching Capt.M.H.N. Graham, 7th Black Watch some interesting slanging was going on regarding his health and treatment in his papers. M.H.N. was taken unwell while at Glencorse. The medical officer was W.E.A. Buchanan Capt R.A.M.C. who treated him. Lt.Col R. Balfour Graham R.A.M.C (Craiglockhart War Hosp. Edinburgh) is the father. The father stated that Capt W.E.A. Buchanan was unfit due to shell shock and should not have been in the position of M.O. of troops. He is critical of his sons treatment and pulls a few strings The M.O. responds in great detail and submits a detailed statement states that even with his "instability of my nervous system I would demand a full enquiry and if necessary a courtmartial" . Reading all the papers I have drawn my own personal conclusion about the truth but I would be interested to know if anyone of our pal's have encountered either of these officers in their research. Any additional facts on either of these R.A.M.C. officers would be welcome (I dont know when the MO was shell-shocked or where with what regiment yet) Fred
