DCS Posted 2 March , 2013 Share Posted 2 March , 2013 Hello, all; I'm hoping someone might help me identify a French officer with the Army of the Orient from the following pictures. In this one he's standing at the far left: And here he is next to Gen. Sarrail: I'd be grateful for any clues to his identity; so far I've found nothing about Sarrail's staff, to which he evidently belonged.

DCS Posted 11 March , 2013 Author Share Posted 11 March , 2013 One reason for my asking is that I'm considering using the second image in a manuscript I've written and, to that end, would like to be able to identify this officer.
apwright Posted 11 March , 2013 Share Posted 11 March , 2013 Long shot perhaps, but could this be him? (The ears don't look right to me ) An intelligence/liaison officer by the name of Heiduska from 2e Bureau de l'Etat-Major Général du Commandement des Armées Alliées. DCS Posted 11 March , 2013 Author Share Posted 11 March , 2013 Looking at the full photo, it's certainly possible that's him. At least it's a start, though an Internet search for that name hasn't been helpful. Maybe there's more on him in one of the official histories? apwright Posted 3 October , 2013 Share Posted 3 October , 2013 In case you're still searching, DCS, it would appear that the man in question is Sarrail's son-in-law, Capitaine Paul Bouët... See here and here Adrian
