Dulhallowes Dressing Station dug outs visited...

Yesterday whilst visiting Dulhallowes CWGC I was invited to walk the neighbours land to see the dugout remains which housed the former Dulhallowes Dressing stations. Some of the reinforced concrete entrances are still very much visable although the owner confirmed those within his garden have been filled in or covered over. Crown holes were also in evidence along the embankment and also clearly visable were other fortifications and trench line evidence.

This of course is private land and public access unless permission granted by the owner is forbidden. I can count myself lucky that I was in the right place at the right time.

This was a fascinating visit and to be honest with you, this was the first time since moving here in 2005 that I had ever seen these dug outs. Everyone it seems has seen or visited the next door Essex farm dugouts but I would doubt not these.
