Labour Corps Reg numbers

Recommended Posts

Guest Dorothyp

If someone is listed as being in the South Staffordshire Reg with the number 18084 and then below that listed as being in the Labour Corps with the number 418082 (only a slight change in the number, adding 4 in front and changing 4 to 2 at the end) is the Labour Corps still within the South Staffordshire Reg? Or it is just a coincidence that there is a similarity between the two numbers?

Thank you for any advice,

Dorothy

It is just a coincidence.

The Labour Corps was a separate unit and when he was transferred to the Labour Corps in 1917 he was given a new number.

Unfortunately it is not possible to confirm which Labour Corps company he was in from his number.
