5th Horseman Posted 18 December , 2012 Share Posted 18 December , 2012 This is one of the two volumes almost never found. The other being volume 14. Bande 13 is now online courtesy of the Landesbibliothek. Most importantly they have the maps as well. Just brilliant! http://digi.landesbibliothek.at/viewer/toc/AC03617667/14/

Guest Posted 18 December , 2012 Share Posted 18 December , 2012 I wish I understood German. There seems to be a great deal more on this site; just entering 1914, 1915 etc in the search box generates hundreds of hits. Mike

MartH Posted 18 December , 2012 Share Posted 18 December , 2012 Great find! It appears to be the 56 edition, all the maps appear to be there in black and white but still we are shamed again with this and the French ones being online.
MartH Posted 18 December , 2012 Share Posted 18 December , 2012 Volume 2 is also here, and I think they plan to do the whole series. Should the title of this thread be changed to Der Welkrieg set?
Tony N Posted 19 December , 2012 Share Posted 19 December , 2012 Fantastic! It wasn't until my son did a project on the Great War last year that I realised I only had volumes 1 to 13. Thanks for posting the link. Tony

MartH Posted 16 November , 2013 Share Posted 16 November , 2013 The files downloaded are over 2GB and need to be saved where you plan to store and access them from, they do not like being copied. So go here http://digi.landesbibliothek.at/viewer/metadata/AC01858814/1/LOG_0000/;jsessionid=A4D6B69B6162ACA0BCCE0F2CC7D356E9 for all volumes, choose the volume you want on the left, click Contents on the left and then right click the pdf symbol (to the right) and save as in to your target directory. bmac Posted 16 November , 2013 Share Posted 16 November , 2013 First half 1916. I actually have the printed version but, for various reasons, a pdf version would be really useful.

bmac Posted 16 November , 2013 Share Posted 16 November , 2013 Thanks for this but a word of warning. Vol X which I have just downloaded is 3.3 Gb. All the maps are included which may explain the size of the file. It is also a very high quality scan.
MartH Posted 17 November , 2013 Share Posted 17 November , 2013 Thanks for this but a word of warning. Vol X which I have just downloaded is 3.3 Gb. All the maps are included which may explain the size of the file. It is also a very high quality scan. As I said in a earlier post:15 they are large and don't like being copied. Hopefully volume 14 will be there soon.
SiegeGunner Posted 17 November , 2013 Share Posted 17 November , 2013 I downloaded Volume 1 overnight and when I tried to open the file this morning, I got an error message saying that the file is damaged and not repairable. Very frustrating. Life is too short to be sitting on 13-14 separate large downloads. Ideal would be one link to download the whole lot, even if it is 20GB and takes all day at fast broadband speeds. Nevertheless, immeasurable thanks to the Landesbibliothek Oberösterreich.
