2Lt WFH Fullerton and his pilot Sgt P Snowdon were flying in a Sopwith Strutter (A1061) of 45Sqn on a observation patrol in the Bapaume - Peronne area on that day. Possible Sopwith claim by OffSt L. Reimann Jasta 2. They were one of four planes lost by 45 Squadron that morning.45 Sqn was part of Trenchards attempts to reinforce the beleaguered RFC over the Somme and they were also their first casulties.

All the above information is from Trevor Henshaws "The Sky Their Battlefield"

Here is a Fullerton from Armagh from the Irish Independent;

Captain Fullerton, A S C., who was at the Dardanells, and is at present on sick leave, was entertained by comrades and friends at a complimentary dinner in the Charlemont Arms Hotel, Armagh. Before joining the colours, Captain Fullerton, was a house and land agent in that city.
