On a lucky roll, that's all. I think the person compiling the register was having a laugh at our expense.

Would you have any ideas on this one please Craig? It looks easy, don't they all? You have his rank, date of death and Unit, how hard can it be? Any help would be very much appreciated.

He has 4 sets of records under Service number 7474, and 523, Thomas Henry Geatly, but the medical doc that would show he was discharged with TB is not in any of them, perhaps it exists somewhere else, can you help please? I would be very grateful for any help you can provide.

On Ancestry can only see that he attested '04 and left '07 and was refused re-enlistment '07

should have swiped left!

Been through FMP, he doesn't appear in Forces War Records at all, and still looking in Ancestry

19yrs 2m in April 1904.

 

No longer physically fit...  24/5/15.

Attestation form does say North Staffs (so mistranscribed by Ancestry).

 

Medical Board: GSW left ankle, infection, sinus formation, now healed. Fractured os calcis."Result of active service".
