Yes, reflecting and rereading several times, I think you must be right as that would likely be a better fit for a kidney problem.

Hi Tom, any leads on a burial for William KIVLN S/11666, I believe he was one of yours? I believe he may have been William KIVLEHAN born 17/04/1895 at Ballinameen, same place as where your man died. Informant on the DC was his father, Tim KIVLEN of 63 Water Street, St Helens, Lancashire.

It's all a bit tricky with multiple variations of the surname. I've found reference to a William Kivlehan of Water Street in the St Helens newspaper who I think may be the same man:

Good morning all.

I have a real posed. This lad has records but outside of that it looks like he did not exist under his name spelling. He is not in the Census, not is there any reference to BRARDY in births marriages or deaths in Ireland, can you help please. It is a real poser for a Sunday.

Can you help please?

Soldiers effects (Ancestry) no mention of next of kin. Unusual surname as spelt?

BORN Co. Longford - attested at Holborn - working in London?         No Brardys in 1901 census of Ireland!

Seems like another sad case, admitted to 1st New Zealand Stationary Hospital for alcoholism when not yet out of his teens.  Killed a year later just before Passchendaele.

I can't link to the search results so you will need to enter the search parameters yourself, i.e. surname, year, service number.

Ivor doesn't that military census say 18yrs old. If born 1893 as per your birth find and 1911 make him 18?

I'm on a phone at the airport so not seeing too well!
