I have to admit I did see that, thanks Bob, I reckon one possibility was that he served during the Boer War in the Weslh Regiment. he is not in the 1901 or 1911 Census in Ireland, perhaps he was in Wales? It might not even have been him, I just though he was a possible.

The WFA Card confirms 304814 died 1/9/20. Indicates WS - whilst serving. No reasons given. Searching.

Edit

WS is wrong. Discharged 18/7/18. Disease was due but cannot make out what it is at the moment

You are right. Another card say discharged 18/7/18. Disease was due and I think it says ohidrosis. This is something to do with sweating and inability to regulate body temperature so nothing to do with TB on the face of it.

Address on both cards is 7 Evergreen St. Cork

One card says born 1872.

Hi Tom,

There's only 11 Robert Jenkins in Wales in 1911 according to Ancestry born between 1870-1880 (I was expecting hundreds!).

But I don't see that any of these were Irish born.

Can you give us a clue as to his parents and place of birth?

...Don't make it too easy though:w00t:

Apart from the Welsh Regiment, is there a Welsh connection?

He was probably baptised 1873 Carrigaline and Templebrigid (6/4/73). Father Robert, Mother Margaret.

Probably the family

Claimant was sister Mary of the Cork address

A mystery this time. I cannot find him. He should be a doddle, but no such luck. Can you help please? The notice is in 1920 so he should have died in 1918.
