museumtom Posted 26 August , 2019 Author Share Posted 26 August , 2019 (edited) I have to admit I did see that, thanks Bob, I reckon one possibility was that he served during the Boer War in the Weslh Regiment. he is not in the 1901 or 1911 Census in Ireland, perhaps he was in Wales? It might not even have been him, I just though he was a possible. Edited 26 August , 2019 by museumtom
Mark1959 Posted 26 August , 2019 Share Posted 26 August , 2019 (edited) The WFA Card confirms 304814 died 1/9/20. Indicates WS - whilst serving. No reasons given. Searching. Edit WS is wrong. Discharged 18/7/18. Disease was due but cannot make out what it is at the moment Edited 26 August , 2019 by Mark1959

Mark1959 Posted 26 August , 2019 Share Posted 26 August , 2019 (edited) You are right. Another card say discharged 18/7/18. Disease was due and I think it says ohidrosis. This is something to do with sweating and inability to regulate body temperature so nothing to do with TB on the face of it. Address on both cards is 7 Evergreen St. Cork https://www.fold3.com/image/645042327?xid=1022 https://www.fold3.com/image/645808709 One card says born 1872. But I don't see that any of these were Irish born. Can you give us a clue as to his parents and place of birth? ...Don't make it too easy though Apart from the Welsh Regiment, is there a Welsh connection?
