May I please have a translation for a reply from the 2nd I.C. of the R.B.L. here in Ireland.

I asked;-

Would your members be prepared to look for the burial registers for the Limerick men who are newly added to the CWGC? Every one found will received a CWGC headstone. This trawl of the death certs and adding to the CWGC should be complete in about 6 weeks and I will be in more of a position to give you all the new Limerick names and possible location of their graves.'

The reply was;-

'Revert post conference'

If anyone can speak Royal British Legionnaire will you translate it for me please. I did not want to reply and ask what he meant in case I looked more sill than I usually do.

Kind regards.

 Tom.

I do not mind being used as a doormat if the chaps are remembered and given the respect they deserve. It might irritate but always remember that. If it adds to Remembrance the default must be supply the information. One should insist the source should be acknowledged

I don't understand the doormat reference, but then again I am not the brightest bulb in Lidl, Acknowledging the source is always the decent thing, that way they can always go back to the well for another drink, otherwise they will die of thirst.

I think Craig is referring to your spelling mistake Tom. Sill not spill-although some would say cill! As in window cill/sill

This lad died of stomach cancerT, certified for a year, and was discharged with Sciatica? Can you find the page that would allow him to go forward please?

It is not in FMP.

Interestingly I automatically CTRL V the image and it appeared in the query, I did not have to 'choose files'

Ctrl + V works most times - I find about 1/10 times it fails and the 'old way' of attachment has to be done.

Branigan on Ancestry.

ASC  R/358475

Discharged 30/9/1918

Records endorsed 'Reported to have died 27/4/19'.

No diagnosis of cancer in records, nor attribution to service.

Mentions sciatica as condition causing discharge as 'aggravated' (presumably by service).
