With the outbreak of war, regular troops were replaced in India by the Territorial Forces.

Leaving Karachi in January 1915 remnants of regiments went home (with the wives & families of the regular forces).

Does anyone know which regiments these would be?

Kath.

I know this is a very old post but happened to find it while looking for something else. I have (through the kindness of sotonmate) several pages of information that might be relevant to your question, although, according to this information, the majority of battalions appear to have arrived in the UK complete between September, 1914 and January, 1915. Seems that the families may have arrived last, in January. Anyway, let me know if you have any interest either through this thread or via pm.
