batfink5537 Posted 11 October , 2012 Share Posted 11 October , 2012 Hi all. My Uncle was killed on the 8th of April 1918 (Rifleman ES Dorsett S/37709) Serving with the 9th battalion the rifle brigade who at the time were part of the 14th light Division. I know they were in The Battle of the Avre and took heavy casualties on the 4th of April 1918. I would like to get hold of a war diary covering the 9th Bn over March & April of 1918 I thought some members of this site might be able to help. Thanks in advance Tony. MBrockway Posted 12 October , 2012 Share Posted 12 October , 2012 Tony, 9/RB war diary is available here: http://discovery.nat...ls?Uri=C4555052 14th (Light) Division's experiences during Operation Michael and the Kaiserschlacht in March/April 1918 are very well covered here on the Forum - a bit of judicious searching will give you a large amount of information. Cheers, Mark
