Nick Thornicroft Posted 11 October , 2012 Share Posted 11 October , 2012 Does such a map exist showing the houses/church/buildings etc. prior to the War? The Ovillers Trench Map (57D SE4) is just slightly too small to show any great detail. Many thanks
WhiteStarLine Posted 11 October , 2012 Share Posted 11 October , 2012 Nick, I used to be able to make geoportail fly with this, as the 1900 imagery town and contour mapping was really good. They've changed the interface recently and I'm struggling a bit at the moment. I can bring up the 1866 Cassini in high resolution (buildings) but not the 1900 Etats-Major. Try your luck at http://www.geoportail.gouv.fr/accueil and search on Pozieres and navigate SW.

somme.1916 Posted 21 October , 2012 Share Posted 21 October , 2012 Dear Nick, You may visit the Internet site of the public records of the Somme ('Archives départementales de la Somme') : Search for the maps of 'cadastre napoléonien'. For La Boisselle and Ovillers-la-Boisselle : http://archives.somm...age=1&page_ref= & http://archives.somm...12576uUPlZG/1/1 You may found also Great War numerised archives of the Somme on http://archives.somme.fr/ Kind regards, Olivier
