Hello

This is a photo of yet another great uncle. Unfortunately I have very little to go on other than he was born in Wolverhampton in 1894. I can see he has a wings and propeller badge on his right arm. Could this be Fleet Air Arm?

Any help would be very welcome.

Many thanks

Will

Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS). Born Wolverhampton 1 October 1893. Official number F.28203. He may have later transferred to the RAF as 228203.

Thanks Sotonmate. I'll look forward to investigating this further when I get there, hopefully, in the next few weeks.

In the 1918 RAF Muster roll he's listed as an Engineer with a rating of P.O. in the RNAS. Updated to Draughtsman with a rating of Sgt Mech in the RAF. with the number that Horatio supplied.

Nominal rate of pay was £6. 0d
