Hi Ciaran

read your book on the 5th Irish Lancers. I enjoyed finding out about the 5th Lancers. My great uncle Alexander Irwin L/3229, joined in 1910 in Kinsale, Co. Cork. 1911 was in barracks near Kiddeminster. Landed in France 1915. Injured in 1918. Posted to Risalpur in now Pakistan 1921. I recognise him in the photo in your book in Risalpur.  At this stage he was an R.S.M

hmm i wonder if she ever came in contact with my grandfather pte George Conway and he possible left a note in her diary. where could i see this diary ? this is George in his hospital blues after being shot i don't know where this picture was taken but i would love to find out.
