Pallionite Posted 30 September , 2012 Share Posted 30 September , 2012 I have been looking at my grandfather's record on WO329/694 (Medal Roll for Northumberland Fusiliers) - It would seem that he and the two other soldiers on the page had served firstly in the 6th Btn East Yorkshire Regiment then the 8th Btn East Yorkshire Regiment before finally finishing on discharge with the 22nd Btn. Northumberland Fusiliers. My grandfather served 301 days in the Northumberland Fusiliers before his discharge in December 1917. Can anyone give me the reasons for these regimental movements. I know that the 6th East Yorks took heavy casualties at Gallipoli which could account for some of the survivors transferring to the 8th Btn but that is only speculation. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the subject could help me here. Many thanks, Bill C
