seaforth78 Posted 30 September , 2012 Share Posted 30 September , 2012 Recently in another long forgotten thread I had asked if someone here may help me identify an officer of the RAMC that served c. 1901-1918. I have a RAMC Officers sword with the officers intials of KII and with the rare (T) designation denoting Territorials so this officer was attached to a TF unit before the Great War. This sword was made during the reign of Edward VII. Hope some can help or steer me in the right direction. Many thanks in advance for your help! Seaforth78 You might do better to have this moved to the "paraphernalia of war". H.C.
seaforth78 Posted 30 September , 2012 Author Share Posted 30 September , 2012 I wondered about that because its querying about an officer in a particular unit; its not about the sword. I'll wait for a MOD to move it if he sees fit. Thank you Seaforth

Seaforth78 Hi Seaforth, I have checked the register of Medical Officers in the Britsh Army 1898-1960 and can find no officer with these initials. seaforth78 Posted 30 September , 2012 Author Share Posted 30 September , 2012 Thank you Robert. That was quite fast! Were all officers in the RAMC fully commissioned as regular doctors in the corps? I was wondering if this officer K I I was a regular RAMC attached to the TF?

Hi Seaforth, Unfortunately I cannot answer your question because I don't know the answer, but I would suggest that an email to the Royal Army Medical Corps Museum at Aldershot may bear fruit. It is possible that this officer may have served between the wars and as such will not have left much trace in records other than RAMC records. If you use Google or another search engine I am sure that you will come up with a 'contact us' email address. It is possible that you may already have tried this approach?, but if not, please let me know how you go on. Good Luck! Robert
