Ken Lees Posted 25 September , 2012 Share Posted 25 September , 2012 Can anyone tell me where 72 Army Brigade, RFA were during the Somme campaign in 1916? If anyone has access to "A Short History of the 72nd Brigade, RFA 1914-1919" or the unit War Diary I would appreciate a look-up. I am trying to find any details which might tell me about the award of the Military Medal to Driver 95025 Harry Fairbrother. The MM was gazetted 9th Dec. 1916. Thanks in advance, Ken
Phil Evans Posted 25 September , 2012 Share Posted 25 September , 2012 Ken, 72 Brigade did not become an Army Brigade until January 1917. Up until then they were still attached to 15th Division. Flers-Courcelette and Le Transloy appear to be the last two battles of the offensive in which 15th Division played a major part. Phil
